Rtn T Somasekharan & spouse Rtne Manorama

Rtn T. Somasekharan hails from Cannanore. He is a Textile Technologist and a Lead Assessor of Quality Systems. He was an officer with Textiles Committee, Govt. of India, for more than 25 years, having worked in various textile centres like Bombay, Surat, Madurai, Karur, Cannanore and Cochin. He quit Government service in the year 1998 to set up his own business and currently he is the Managing Partner of M/s Omkar International Cannanore, a textile exporting company.

He joined Rotary in 1995 and became the president of Rotary club of Cannanore in the year 2002-03. He has taken various posts in the District namely , District Chairman, GGR, GSR, Assistant Governor, Regional Secretary, District Director, District Conference Chairman and the District Director General and now elected as the District Governor Nominee 2012- 13.

He was an active member of Jaycees and was the Kerala State President of Jaycees International in the year 1985. He is associated with many other organizations like: Kerala Textile Export Association, North Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Malabar Cancer Care Society, Cannanore Water Conservation Society, Shanthimadom Trust & Azhikode T P V Charitable Trust, Cannanore. He is married to Manorama, who was the State Chair person of Jaycerette wing, President of Inner wheel club, Cannanore and past CGR of Inner Wheel District. They are blessed with 4 daughters, all married and settled, and 2 grand daughters.
